I love the Magical Readathons hosted by Book Roast and for the week of 8th to 14th of October we are given a special treat: the Charms Extra Credit readathon! I listed my readathon TBR in my October TBR post where I also hinted that I might be doing a week-long live blog for this readathon. So here we are! I’m really excited to get started, I have done these live blogs earlier for an independent 24 in 48 readathon and a 24 hour readathon, but doing it for a whole week is something brand new for me.
The challenges are:
🐶 Accio: Read a book at the top of your TBR
🔥 Incendio: Read a book with flames/fire in title or cover
✨ Lumos: Read a book with a light/white cover
🗝 Alohomora: Read a book that is first in a series
🦋 Rictumsempra: Read a book that gives you butterflies
You can check out this video for more info on the readathon. My goal is to finish at least two challenges during the following week and have loads of fun.

I’m taking part in the N.E.W.Ts Readathon that is hosted by Book Roast for the duration of August. It’s a Harry Potter themed reading challenge where you take exams (= complete book prompts) to pass the Nastily Exhausting Wizarding Tests! More info here.
As part of the NEWTs, Book Roast hosted a Magical All-nighter for some exam cramming. The All-nighter is a 24 hour readathon and the rules are simple: between Fri 10th 7pm and Sat 11th 7pm, read as much as you can! It’s not a requirement of the all-nighter, but those who are very ambitious and slightly bonkers can try and read for 24 hours straight without sleep.
Guess who loves readathons and is both ambitious and bonkers.
I blogged my readathon experience! My live-blog or vlog-blog or diary or whatever it should be called (?) is below!

I decided to have my own, independent 24 in 48 readathon during the weekend as the official 24 in 48 readathon date disagrees with my diary. The point of 24 in 48 is to read for 24 hours within a 48 hour period. I have done the readathon twice before, and I have always had loads of fun! The weekend also happened to match Ivyclad Ideas’ Genre Splash readathon. I decided to make my 24 in 48 comply with the Genre Splash and focus on reading one genre only: fantasy!
I’m a big fan of booktube (bookish youtube) and especially reading vlogs. I wanted to do something similar in my blog. It took me an embarrasingly long time to figure out what would be the blog-equivalent of a vlog – well, it’s blog 🙈
I’ll be reading from midnight Saturday to midnight on Sunday and try to catch that 24 hours. Below is my 24 in 48 adventure!
