WWW Wednesday: 11th August 2021

Hello! Happy Wednesday!

It has been a bit since I did a WWW Wednesday post, but couldn’t resist taking it up today! It’s a cozy, rainy day in Edinburgh and I’m dreaming of a day filled with reading.

I love the WWW Wednesday posts because somehow they make Wednesdays feel like a celebration 🥳 But let’s talk about the current reads! WWW Wednesday is hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words. The idea is to share your current reads, a recent read and what you plan to read next! Short and sweet, let’s get into it!

What We Don’t Talk About When We Talk About Fat by Aubrey Gordon. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ /5 (5/5 stars) 🎧 Audiobook

What We Don’t Talk About When We Talk About Fat is a wonderfully written, thoroughly researched and well thought-out nonfiction that offers a comprehensive thesis for fat justice.
Honestly this should be required reading for everyone, and especially health care workers!

Aubrey Gordon passionately shares the experiences of fat people from being abused in aeroplanes to being reduced to one’s appearance at the doctors office. She calls for change and relies on research to illustrate the points. In the end, we receive a description of what a world with real equity, fat justice and equality could look like and it was just beautiful to read.

The Book of Form & Emptiness by Ruth Ozeki. 📱 e-book 🌹 ARC

I usually have 3 next reads planned, a print book, audiobook and an ebook – but now I can’t for the life of me think what I’ll pick up next for print and audio. I have had trouble finding reading time lately and I have been reading veeeeryyyy slowly – so I think my best hope is to only finish my ebook before next week anyway!

But out of all ebooks at the top of my mind is The Book of Form & Emptiness by Ruth Ozeki of which I just received an arc of! I loved For the Time Being by the author and I’m excited to dive in!

What are your answers to the questions? Did you enjoy the book you most recently finished? I would love to know!

Thank you so much for reading! Hope you have had the best of Wednesdays  ✨
