July Fairyloot unboxing

I’m so excited to share with you my Fairyloot unboxing for July! Unfortunately, this will be my last box for awhile as I got the subscription as a gift and I’m now running out of months. SAD. I love these boxes with all my heart!

A little info: Fairyloot is a UK based subscription book box that ships internationally. The boxes come monthly and they always include a newly released hardcover fantasy YA book and bookish goodies surrounding a delicious theme that changes every month. Everything in the boxes is a surprise!

A word of warning! If you are still waiting for your July Fairyloot or if you are saving the opening of it to a perfect moment, please don’t proceed! You will get spoiled on what’s in the box. But come back when you’ve unboxed your loot so that we can hype together! 😊

Let’s dive into the box!

The box has been opened! AND LOOK AT THAT THEME CARD 😱😱 This one is hands down my favourite one since I got my first Fairyloot in February. I already have plans to frame it. The theme card illustrates the July theme which is The Power Within. Fairyloot gets all their theme cards illustrated by the ah-maizing Taratjah. The theme card is also a scary thing as the other side has a list of all the contents in the box. So I’ll carefully move the card aside because I know my impatient brain wants to have a sneak-peek.

The first item comes in a mysterious, pretty heavy, white box!

It’s a heat changing mug! This magical mug is done by Little Inkling Designs, and the quote is from Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes. The quote says ‘You must continue to believe with all your heart. Sometimes belief is all it takes to make something real.’ Isn’t that cool! I haven’t read Falling Kingdoms but I will still certainly ruminate on this quote while making it appear with my Monday morning coffee. MAGIC. Maybe I’ll believe that it’s the weekend, not Monday, and it will make it real 🀯 (I’ll also whisper MAGIC everytime I pour hot liquid in and the design appears)

Look at all those goodies still waiting for us! Onwards!

Next in the box is this neat little vinyl sticker. It took me an insane amount of time to read the quote – which is so weird, it’s not hard to read ?! – so in case you’re the same it says Ond Eldr. It is a quote from Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young and it means ‘Breathe Fire’. I haven’t read the book but it is on my TBR! The design is by Reverie and Ink. Unfortunately my sticker arrived folded by the MAGIC mug. Not to worry, I own a couple books, and it can go in between some pages to straighten up.

This little bottle was so wrapped up in plastic that I had to spend a full 10 minutes looking for my misplaced scissors. It is an Exclusive Theron’s Study Room Spray by Geeky Clean, inspired by Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch. KRHM, again, I have not read the book, but I’m sure Theron is an okay guy. The spray is said to smell like lavender and books. The spray nozzle was majorly stuck so I had to pump it for a decent amount of time before anything came out. Unfortunately, I can only smell lavender in the spray and nothing bookish 😒 I don’t use much room sprays but I might try to learn to use them now that I have this.

The next item made me think for awhile that I have some internal bleeding that has left me brain damaged and I have lost the ability to read for forever. I was so confused. But then I suddenly remembered that Fairyloot said in Instagram a couple weeks ago that they had trouble with one item that was accidentally reverse printed. Fairyloot included the faulty item in the boxes but will send a correct one for everyone a bit later. So no brain damage, it is in fact a reverse printed tea towel. And it looks pretty lovely! I’m really happy that they included the faulty item, one can never have too many tea towels. The quote is from And I Darken by Kiersten White (I have read the book!) and it says ‘Her spine was steel, her heart was armor, her eyes were fire.’ The item was made by KDP Letters.

SOOOOO. Here is the first item ever from Fairyloot that I quite dislike πŸ˜‚ It is an Exclusive Quidditch Pen designed by Fairyloot. I see why it is exclusive, no one would buy that. Hah just kidding. I really like the quote, and I like pens. But I hate that coarse wiry thing at the back of it. I think I would like it better if the hairy part of the broom (does it have a name?) was made from individual strands or something, this one is loosely knitted coarse fabric that has been twisted around the pen which is why it is also slightly coming off. As I like the quote, I’ll see if my feelings change about the hairy tail. If not, I might ruthlessly chop it off πŸ˜‚

Fairyloot was kind enough to include a promo postcard for Sweet Black Waves by Kristina Perez which includes a code to access a digital sampler!

Look at this beauty! This is an artprint made by Diana Worak of Zelie from Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi. And it is GORGEOUS. Children of Blood and Bone is high on my TBR and I can’t wait to read it. I don’t even care if I like it or not but I’m definitely framing this print. I’m captivated by it.

Fairyloot’s books always come in a nice black drawstring bag that can be used as a booksleeve. The first thing that I get hold of when reaching in the bag is the letter from the author. This amazing illustration by Noverantale is on the backside of the letter. I also get hold of this month’s bookmark which is the theme card as a smaller version. Every month we are also given a book buddy code, my code is #MyBuddy011527 Let me know if you happen to have the same code 😊

Then the book!

YIPPIE! The book of the month is Heart of Thorns by Bree Barton. I was wishing for it to be this one, and it is actually one of my most anticipated new releases of the year! I’m so happy to have this!

This edition is SO PRETTY. It is an exclusive to Fairyloot and it has bright red sprayed pages and it is signed by the author!

I also love the spine of this book. Gorgeous! The book is black underneath the dust jacket which works perfectly with the red sprayed pages.

Here is my full unboxing of the July Fairyloot:

The candle is my own addition to the picture and it is not by Fairyloot.

Personally, the items in the July box were a bit more hit and miss than ever before. But I am so extremely happy to have this book and the art prints are absolutely gorgeous!

Like I mentioned above, July Fairyloot was my last one for awhile. But I hope re-subscribe soon 🀞

What did you think of the items? Are you planning to read the Heart of Thorns?

Thank you so much for reading!

    1. Aw thank you so much 😊😊 I can’t wait to pick it up, but knowing myself I’ll take awhile to get to it. I have so many awesome books on my TBR! I’ll try and push up Heart of Thorns πŸ˜†

  1. Everything in that box is beautiful (except for the pen, it doesn’t look very appealing). I have always wanted to subscribe to Fairyloot but I just couldn’t afford it. Your post made me crave it more, they’re gorgeous! ❀

  2. Ok, wow! I’ve seen other book boxes on people’s blogs, and they’ve rarely looked worth the money, but this one looks amazing! So much wonderful stuff! I love the art prints, and I love that you get one for the box’s theme. The heat changing mug is super cool. I’m sure the towel will be very cute once its printed the correct way lol. I even like the weird broom pen, haha.
