Fairyloot is a subscription based book-box that includes a newly released hardcover with a signed book plate and loads of bookish goodies surrounding a monthly changing theme. Everything in the box is a surprise!
I LOOOVE Fairyloot. I squeak from joy everytime I see one of the sneak peeks by Fairyloot on Instagram and around the time when the box is supposed to arrive I refuse to leave my flat in case I miss the mail-man who is carrying my bookbox baby. I also love Fairyloot so much that I tend to save opening the box until there are absolute zero distractions. Opening a subscription box is a holy experience. That’s also why this unboxing is a bit late 😂 We had loads of guests over in June which was super nice but I just couldn’t open my box before they left. But then the opportunity came 😍 And 😍 It 😍 Was 😍 Beautiful 😍
Below is my Fairyloot unboxing! If you have yet to receive (or open lol) your June box then proceed with caution or come back later (to gush with me!) when you have opened your box. This blog is a safe, spoiler-free area 🤗 😇
Here it is!
It’s open! June’s theme was Rebels in Ballgowns and sneak peeks said that the items are inspired by Legendary, Shatter me, Nevernight and The Selection. I have read Caraval and just started Nevernight but otherwise I’m not super familiar with these series. I’m still really excited! I have yet to receive a single item from Fairyloot that I don’t love.
First on the top there is this beautiful pink candle. This is a pretty big one compared to the ones we have received in previous boxes. This exclusive ‘Corvere’ candle by Geeky Clean is inspired by Nevernight by Jay Kristoff and it is scented with strawberries and pepper. Smells sooooo gooood, I could bathe in this.
Next is this gorgeous little Fairyloot box that has this nickel-free masquerade mask necklace inside. I have never received jewelry from Fairyloot before and I LOVE IT. Look how pretty it is! And it has a long chain meaning that I could easily use it on an everyday basis. This pretty thing is made exclusively by Fairyloot, I’m so happy to have it!
Next, we have a CUSHION COVER! I squeaked from happiness and proceeded to stuff a near-by cushion in it straightaway. The quote is from Legendary by Stephanie Garber and the cushion cover was made by Miss Phi.
This little cushion has already found its permanent spot in my reading corner on the couch.
We also got some magnetic bookmarks that feature characters (Warner, Juliette and Adam) from Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi. I haven’t read the series yet but it’s on my TBR and I really like using magnetic bookmarks. These illustrations were made by Taratjah Art, and I adore her art so I’m really happy to have these. Now I just have to read the Shatter Me series and I can use these as bookmarks when I do.
Next up is an item that might be my favourite in the box! We got an Iron-on Patch designed by Ink and Wonder. The quote is from the Selection series and I haven’t read it, but the quote still stole my heart and I need to get this patch ironed on my denim jacket asap. IT’S SO PRETTY I JUST CAN’T AH.
The awesomeness is still not over because Fairyloot also included an exclusive Reading Journal in this month’s box. I’m so happy about this because I happen to be a person in love with lists, stationary and planning. I have a bullet journal but I have been craving a special reading journal for some time now. And here it is, magic! The journal is pretty inside-out and it includes quote art by Stella’s Bookish Art. The notebook was designed by FictionTea Designs and it covers June-December 2018.
This month’s book is Grace and Fury by Tracy Banghart. The spoiler card tells me that it is a feminist fantasy with fierce sisters, rebellion and a ball. It is also a Fairyloot exclusive edition and the book is not actually out before the end of July which means that all of us Fairyloot-peeps get to have it early.
I’m so excited for this, I hadn’t heard of it beforehand but the ‘feminist fantasy’ has already caught me.
Another surprise awaited me underneath the book’s dustjacket. It’s a naked beauty!
Fairyloot also often includes additional swag in the box. This month we got a signed bookplate from Tracy Banghart that is not pictured as I already put it in the book. We also received the monthly Fairyscoop with author interviews and the spoiler card which features the month’s illustration by Taratjah (gorgeous as always!). We also got an illustration of the character’s in the Grace and Fury with a letter from the author on the other side. There’s so much everything already but Fairyloot decided to treat us with a Grace and Fury postcard and an excerpt from an upcoming book called Sea Witch. My bookbuddy code for the month is #MyBuddy011562, if you have the same code let me know!
I’m so so so so so happy with this box and I think it’s the second best one I have ever received. (The best one was probably last April, if you google a bit you’ll probably find someone’s unboxing of it!). July’s box will be my last one 😭 I received Fairyloot as a gift subscription which now coming to its end. SO SAD. But I’ll definitely re-subscribe as soon as I can afford it!
July’s theme will be The Power Within! It is inspired by characters that are powerful from within, either due to magic or determination. The book will have SPRAYED PAGES (EEEEK) and it will be SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR (DOUBLE EEEK). I’m so happy I’ll still receive the July box, can’t wait to get it! I have a pretty good guess about what the next book might be, and if I’m right it’s going to be amazing.
What did you think of this month’s box? Are you planning to read the Grace and Fury?
Thank you so much for reading!
