I got my May Fairyloot!

Fairyloot is a UK based subscription box. The box always includes a newly released YA fantasy book in hardcover and a bunch of amazing bookish goodies, all linked to a theme.

This month’s theme was Save the Kingdom (!!) and Fairyloot hinted in April that it is filled with items inspired by An Ember in the Ashes, The Winners Trilogy, The Remnant Chronicles and Throne of Glass. Well umm I haven’t read any of those, but an Ember in the Ashes and the Remnant Chronicles are in my TBR. Also, I’m always down for some kingdom saving.

Behold! Ahead lay them spoilers. Stop reading if you have yet to receive your May box (but come back later to hype with me!).

It’s all so beautiful 😭

I’m so so happy with May’s box, and I love all of the items!

The book in this month’s box was Onyx & Ivory by Mindee Arnett.

And not only does it have a gorgeous cover but it also has sprayed edges. And it’s beautiful naked. AAAAAaaaAA.

Underneath the dust jacket, the book is white and the title is written on the spine in gold. The white-black-gold contrast is really pretty.

I like to go into books knowing as little as possible but check Goodreads here if you want to read through the synopsis. I’m expecting magic, kingdoms, traitors and a great deal of political intrigue!

When Fairyloot announced in April that there would be a book sleeve included in this month’s box, I was jumping around in excitement.

So the book sleeve was definitely my most anticipated item, and it did not disappoint!

The sleeve is designed by Reverie & Ink, and the quote is from An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir. Can’t wait to start that series btw.

So pretty!

The sleeve also has a waterproof fabric as the inner lining. This is just simply amazing because I live in Scotland and now the never-ending rain can stop from ruining my babies.

The box also included a vegan lip scrub by Geeky Clean. The lip scrub was inspired by the Remnant Chronicles (can’t wait to read it!), and three different designs were sent out – Venda, Morrighan and Dalbreck. I received Morrighan! The scrub has a sweet lime scent.

IMG_20180526_200731081_HDRIn addition to the lip scrub, the box included a vegan bath bomb by Little Hearts Gifts. The bath bomb was inspired by the book, Onyx & Ivory, and it came in a nicely illustrated box.

My jaw dropped to the floor when I opened the box; the bath bomb is in the shape of a castle!

The box also included a coaster by Evie Bookish with a quote from the Winners Trilogy by Marie Rutkoski. Evie Bookish is an amazing artist on society6, I love all of her designs!

We also got a collection of page tags by Fictiontea Designs. The tags were inspired by Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas. These are so fun, although I have no idea what ‘by the wyrd!’ means. Please someone enlighten me hah.

Last but not least, the box had a bag of loose leaf English breakfast tea! Yippie! I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m sure it will be quite scrumptious indeed. And it is by the Tea Leaf Co.

Fairyloot boxes often include additional swag to all the main items. This month we were blessed with Fairyscoop, a monthly information pack from Fairyloot, a letter from the author of Onyx & Ivory, Mindee Arnett, a signed book plate and a sticker related to the book. My sticker says ‘pyrist’, and I’m sure I’ll find out what that means once I crack open the book.

Fairyloot also gives out a buddy code so that you can find yourself a buddy to read the book with. My code is #MyBuddy007532. If you have the same code, let me know!

We were also given a bookmark advertising the upcoming release of Smoke in the Sun, and a tarot card to promote the publication of Legend. I loooove the card! I noticed that a range of different designs were sent out, they all look nice.

That’s all! May’s Fairyloot was a good one (although I have yet to receive a bad one hah), and I’m already looking forward to the June box! Meanwhile, I’ll sip my English breakfast tea in a royal bath while scrubing my lips with the Remnant lip scrub and reading Onyx & Ivory.

Thank you so much for reading πŸ’«πŸ’ž
